A JIRA/Trello alternative which covers the needs of product managers more so than product managers. On the spectrum of easy to use and extremely powerful, Apollo falls somewhere in between.
This is a highly ambitious project which will need the help of external developers. A marketing site and various blog posts are currently in the works to gauge interest in the community.
As things currently stand, JIRA is considered by product managers to be a skillset. This is backwards; prerequisites should not be considered valuable skills, as they should be required, as opposed to nice-to-have.
Similarly, the ability to implement agile workflows is shockingly rare considering considering the popularity of this mindset. Apollo seeks to resolve both of these problems by providing a simple interface. Users should be guided to execute "agile on rails," where previously complex philosophies are secondary to software proficiency.
Sparing the finer details, the current hierarchy and workflow of issue tracking is flawed. The way in which we currently document requirements is far too time consuming, and can be handled in much simpler, visual way. The current process of typing and reading endless requirements is antiquated for our field.
- Logical hierarchy of software issues
- Intertwining of user stories and "parts" of a product
- User story visualization
- As few text fields as possible
- Power with Simplicity
